Living by the Spirit of Christ

The Etowah River church of Christ, formerly the Dawsonville church of Christ, was formed in 1988 by three local families. Together those families purchased a country home on seven and a half acres located on Highway 53. Remodeling of the facility took place in 1996, however, increased membership and the providence of God allowed the congregation to acquire eleven and one half acres on Etowah River Road.

The people had a mind to work and the new building was completed in June 2002. The design of the building is sixteenth century Normandy. On the road leading to the church building you must pass over a bridge. The covered bridge over Palmer Creek was completed in August 2003. The bridge is called "Grace" which is the bridge between God and man. A special dedication service was held September 21, 2003 at 10:00 am.

An open pavilion was completed in June 2002. This will seat 200 for a sit down meal. Work was completed the summer of 2006 to enclose the pavilion so that it can be used for a spanish work - teen activities - and a fellowship building. Other long-term plans include building a larger place of worship and turning the present facilities into a school.

God has been at work through his people and credit for any accomplishments must go to him. To God be the glory.
